Gideon Fynaardt had the opportunity to present and overview of his MS research project at the Diary Innovation Hub‘s 5th annual Dairy Summit on November 11, 2024. The summit is a premier example of The Wisconsin Idea in action, showcasing the collaborations between University of Wisconsin agricultural campuses, farmers, processors, students and consumers. Gideon did a fantastic job oultining the motivation for the ecological intensificaiton of Midwestern cropping sytsems as a low-tech, and potentially high-impact appraoch to optimize multiple ecosystems services including soil organic carbon stabilization, crop production, and profitability.
